Al Husn
3rd-Aug-2023
I am backing Al Husn in the Nassau Stakes.
She is just a really progressive filly. She battled on well to take second place behind the seriously impressive Via Sistina in the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket in May, and she moved on from that to win a listed race at Ayr cosily.
Then last time, she beat Nashwa in a Group 3 race at Newcastle. Maybe Nashwa wasn’t at her best that day, but she can’t have been that far off, she came out next time and won the Falmouth Stakes by five lengths.
Al Husn should not be as far behind Nashwa in the market today as she is in my book. Nashwa is last year’s winner, she has probably had this race on her radar for a while, but Al Husn is a talented and progressive filly who beat her the last time they met. There may not be much between them today.
Blue Rose Cen is a different proposition, she could be head and shoulders above her rivals, but she is very short. I can see Caernarfon running well too at a big price, but Al Husn is the bet.
AL HUSN WON (ADV 11/1, SP 9/1)
