Annsam

14th-Jan-2022

Tile Tapper has been all the rage for this, but I think that Annsam represents some value against him.

Well beaten in the London Gold Cup on his debut this season, he ran well for a long way in the Coral Gold Cup on his second run, racing prominently, matching Busselton in front for much of the race at a fast pace and jumping well, and just tiring from the third last fence.

It usually takes him a run or two to find his way into the season, so he could come forward appreciably from that run.  He goes well right-handed, he can handle soft ground – he easily landed his beginners’ chase on soft ground at Ludlow a couple of seasons ago – and he stays three miles well.  Kempton suits his forward-going style of racing, and he could put it up to Tile Tapper.

ANNSAM WON (ADV 9/2, SP 7/2)
