Quinta Do Lago

29th-Apr-2026

I think that Quinta Do Lago is over-priced here.
He is only four, and that is a little bit of a concern, he may just lack the robustness for this, but it is not a massive field, and he is a progressive four-year-old who could take another step forward now, stepped up in trip.

He has progressed with every one of his runs since he won an academy hurdle at Cork in October on good ground.  He coped with soft ground in winning next time at Punchestown’s John Durkan Chase meeting, and he put up a good performance back on better ground when he finished third behind Proactif and Macho Man at Fairyhouse in January.  That is rock solid juvenile hurdle form, those two finished first and second again in the Grade 2 juveniles’ hurdle at Fairyhouse’s Irish Grand National meeting.

Quinta Do Lago ran well again in the Fred Winter Hurdle at Cheltenham off a British mark of 128, in his first handicap, keeping on well to take fifth place behind Saratoga, when he shaped as if he would appreciate a step up in distance.

A four-year-old who has raced just five times his life, he has the potential to continue his progression now. Trainer Jessica Harrington had a nice winner in a competitive handicap hurdle at Punchestown yesterday with Powerful, and Quinta Do Lago could out-run his odds by a fair way.

QUINTA DO LAGO WON (ADV 11/2, SP 9/2)
