Laureate Crown

Laureate Crown

Organise could be very good, he has the potential to go well beyond his current mark of 97, and he is probably going to improve again for his seasonal return at Yarmouth two weeks ago.  But he has been put in very short.  His price has been influenced by his connections too, no doubt, and the value lies beyond him.

I am taking him on with Laureate Crown.  Hugo Palmer’s horse didn’t quite go on after he won a novice stakes on his racecourse debut at Ascot last July but, gelded during the winter, he was very good on his debut this season at Wolverhampton four weeks ago.  Hooded in the stalls, he was looking around him when they opened, he lost a couple of lengths at the start.  Also, it was only a small field, but the early pace was not strong, the finishing speed was over 113% of overall speed, so he did well to come from last place to win.

He came from two lengths behind Waterford Castle two furlongs out to a half a length in front of him at the winning line, making up his ground into a quickening pace, with the front two pulling clear of their two rivals.  And Waterford Castle came out last Wednesday and finished a close-up second in a good handicap at Newmarket off a 2lb higher mark.  He is now 6lb higher than he was at Wolverhampton.

Laureate Crown has been raised by 8lb to a mark of 95, and this is a step up in grade, but he should come forward for his seasonal return, and he could be up to this step up in class.  The fact that he has good form over shorter is a positive, and his turn of foot could be a big asset here.

LAUREATE CROWN WON (ADV 8/1, SP 7/1)
