Mirsky

6th-Jun-2025

Mirsky is rock solid.  He is favourite, but he should probably be even shorter than he is.  He had some really good runs in defeat last season, including at York in August in a good handicap at the Ebor meeting, when he was only just beaten by Thunder Run off a mark of 94.

He kept on well last time to just get home by a head in a one-mile handicap at Thirsk, racing off a mark of 88.  He is up by 2lb in the handicap for that, but his mark of 90 still leaves him well below his peak of 98 when he arrived from France.

He was a classy horse in France and, with that win under his belt now, his first since he won at Deauville in July 2023, he could take another step forward now.  His draw in stall one is ideal, Oisin Murphy is obviously a top booking, and the easing of the ground is another positive.

MIRSKY WON (ADV 4/1, SP 9/4)
