Triple Trade
17th-Nov-2023
I am backing Triple Trade here. You can see the case for Ballybreeze, but I don’t think that Triple Trade should be as far behind him in the market as he is.
Joe Tizzard’s horse was progressive at the end of last season, winning his last two races, at Wincanton and Kempton, off marks of 115 and 119 respectively.
Raised to a mark of 129 after his impressive Kempton win, he proved that he was up to that type of mark on his debut this season, when he finished second to Dancing On My Own in that good two-mile handicap chase at Cheltenham’s October meeting.
He did well to get as close as he did that day. He lost his position a bit when they quickened, but he stayed on well over the last two fences to take second place, closing on the winner all the way to the line.
He is a horse who can step back up in trip as the season develops, but the ground will be softer today than it was in October, and that should place an extra emphasis on stamina, which should suit. He is only 1lb higher now than he was last month, and that is fair.
TRIPLE TRADE WON (ADV 4/1, SP 100/30)
