Fast Response
22nd-Oct-2022
I am backing Fast Response here.
Karl Burke’s filly has had plenty of racing, but she is only three and she is nicely progressive now. Her last three runs have been the best of her life, and her last two have been on easy or soft ground.
At Redcar in early October on easy ground, she did well to get as close as she got to Helvetique having missed the break, and she put that to rights last time at Nottingham, on soft ground and off the same mark of 85, when she finished off her race well on the near side to get up and beat Lord Riddiford by a neck.
A 3lb hike for that was not harsh, it takes her up to a mark of 88 and, while she is up in grade here, into a 0-105, she could be progressive enough to cope with the step up.
Lullaby Bay and last year’s joint winner Copper Knight were also on my shortlist but, at the prices, Fast Response is the bet.
FAST RESPONSE WON (ADV 7/1, SP 9/2)
