Qaader
29th-Jul-2021
Qaader did well to finish seventh in the Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot, doing better than the bare form of the run suggests. He was up with the pace on the far side, in a race that was dominated by the near side and by the hold-up horses. He finished third of the far-side group, beaten just a length by first-home on the far side Dubai Honour, who then went and won a handicap at Newmarket’s July meeting off a 2lb higher mark.
Qaader also ran at the July meeting, and he ran well to finish fourth in a one-mile handicap behind Royal Fleet, shaping as if a step up in trip would suit him. From the family of Shirocco, he is interesting now, up to 10 furlongs, and back at Goodwood, where he won a conditions stakes in April. He ran well in the Richmond Stakes too at this meeting last year. He is down to a mark if 99 now, 3lb lower than he was last year as a juvenile.
QAADER WON (ADV 10/1, SP 8/1)
