Farinet

13th-Mar-2021

Farinet ran better than the bare form of the run suggests at Haydock last time on his British debut.

He travelled well in front for Charlie Deutsch, but the rider appeared to be fairly relaxed when Galahad Quest and Marown and The Ferry Master moved ahead of him on the run out of the back straight.  He travelled well into the home straight and, while he couldn’t catch the first two, he stayed on well from the second last fence to finish a clear third, closing on the first two all the way to the line.

He shaped there as if he might do better over three miles, but two and a half should be fine for him on soft ground, ridden a little more aggressively.

That was his first run for Venetia Williams, his first since last July, so there is every reason to expect that he will come on for it.  And he gets to race off the same mark of 125, which is fair.

FARINET WON (ADV 9/1, SP 13/2)
