Ramses De Teillee
15th-Nov-2020
The ground could get very testing at Cheltenham today, and that should suit Ramses De Teillee well.
David Pipe’s horse is at his best when it gets deep, as he proved when he won a novices’ hurdle at Cheltenham’s October meeting last year, and when he beat Kalooki in a Grade 2 hurdle at Haydock last February.
He is as good over fences too as he is over hurdles. He finished second in the Welsh National in 2018 off a mark of 144, and he finished second in the Haydock Grand National Trial next time off a mark of 149.
He was fourth in this race last year, but he raced off a mark of 153 that day, and he didn’t get to lead, Achille led him from early, and he made a few mistakes. He is down to a mark of 149 today, and the smaller field should help him, as should the softer ground. Prominent racers did well in the chases yesterday, so Ramses De Teillee’s racing style is a positive.
RAMSES DE TEILLEE WON (ADV 5/1, SP 11/2)
