Golden Horde

19th-Jun-2020

Golden Horde looked every inch a sprinter last season.  A good fifth in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, Clive Cox’s horse showed a lot of pace in winning the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood next time, and he kept on well to beat Threat, who won the Gimcrack Stakes and the Champagne Stakes on his next two runs.

Third behind Earthlight in the Group 1 Prix Morny next time, Golden Horde stepped forward from that again and ran Earthlight to a neck in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket, only giving best deep inside the final furlong.

A son of sprinter Lethal Force, Clive Cox is training him as a sprinter this season, he skipped any Guineas option to come here, and that can only be a positive.
