A Plus Tard
27th-Dec-2019
It is worthwhile backing A Plus Tard now for the Grade 1 Paddy’s Rewards Club Chase at Leopardstown on Friday.
Henry de Bromhead’s horse is probably going to be better over two and a half miles this season, but he is very good over two. He was only beaten two and a half lengths by Ballyoisin in the Fortria Chase on his debut this season over that distance, and he finished well clear of Hardline, who enhanced the form in the John Durkan Chase next time.
He should come on for that run, his seasonal debut, he is best going left-handed, and Leopardstown’s minimum trip is two miles and one furlong, not two miles. It is a stiff track, and the testing ground should place an extra emphasis on stamina.
Chacun Pour Soi could be a monster of course, but the race may cut up a bit, it may lack depth outside of the favourite, and A Plus Tard shouldn’t be a 12/1 or a 14/1 shot in my book.
