Jatiluwih

16th-Nov-2019

Remastered is all the rage for this, another David Pipe horse who has probably been targeted at the meeting, who went too fast last time at Chepstow, but I think that Jatiluwih has been under-rated as a result.

Philip Hobbs’ horse is four for four since he arrived in Britain. A dual winner last spring, he won a weak race at Sedgefield on his debut this term, and he stepped forward again last time at Wetherby. He was impressive that day, he made nice ground among horses at the second last flight, and he stayed on well to win nicely. The form of that race is working out too, with the third horse coming out and winning next time.

He gets to race off a handicap rating of 137 today, which looks more than fair. He had a rating of 135 going into the Wetherby race, a novices’ race, and he has a really nice progressive profile.

His rider David Maxwell, also is owner, is an amateur rider, but he is a good amateur rider, and he claims 3lb, and he obviously gets on well with his horse. He is four for four on him now.

Remastered is obviously a danger, and Paul Gilligan’s horse Shanwalla could run well, but Jatiluwih is the one who is worth backing in my book.

JATILUWIH WON (ADV 3/1, SP 11/4)
