Sir Dancealot

30th-Jul-2019

I think that Zaaki is vulnerable here.  He is at his best on fast ground, so the prospect of rain is not a positive.  Also, he hasn’t raced over seven furlongs since he joined Sir Michael Stoute.  Actually, he was only just beaten in a good handicap last year over 10 furlongs.  It may be all a bit too sharp for him today ...

Sir Dancealot won this race last year, and he followed up by landing the Hungerford Stakes.  He has been beaten in both his runs this season, but they were both over a mile, the latter on soft ground, so you can easily allow him those.  And, actually, he didn’t run badly in the Lockinge Stakes.

He should be happier back down to seven furlongs today, and we know that he goes well at Goodwood.

SIR DANCEALOT WON (ADV 7/1 [R4], SP 6/1)
