Al Boum Photo

It is worth getting Al Boum Photo on side now, with a run, for the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Willie Mullins’ horse was a classy and progressive staying novice chaser last season.  He probably would have finished third, maybe second, behind Presenting Percy in the RSA Chase at Cheltenham last year had he not come down at the second last fence, and he almost certainly would have won the Grade 1 Growise Chase at Punchestown had he not run out at the last.

He did win the Grade 1 Ryanair Gold Cup at Fairyhouse though, and he continued his progression on his debut this season when he won the Savills Chase at Tramore on New Year’s Day.

The form of that race is working out well already, with the third and fourth, Invitation Only and Alpha Des Obeaux, finishing first and second in the Thyestes Chase, and with the third, Total Recall, running a big race in the Kinloch Brae Chase before making a bad mistake at the last.

There is every chance that Al Boum Photo will progress from that run, his seasonal debut, as a lot of the Willie Mullins horses have been doing.  Also, he is only seven, and that was just his seventh chase.  He has lots of scope for progression.

He is 16/1 all in, but he is 14/1 with a run with several firms.  Best to back him with a run, non-runner-no-bet.

AL BOUM PHOTO WON (ADV 14/1, SP 12/1)
