Dynamite Dollars

8th-Dec-2018

It is understandable that Lalor is favourite here, he was a high class novice hurdler last season and he looked very good at Cheltenham on his chasing bow last month.  However, everything went right for him in that day, on good ground, and he was the subject of rave reviews afterwards, and that is all factored into his odds here.  I think that he is shorter than he should be for this and, consequently, I think that Dynamite Dollars is over-priced against him on softer ground.

Paul Nicholls’ horse has seven lengths to make up on Lalor from their Cheltenham run, but he got in tight to the final two fences as Lalor flew them.  Lalor was superior on the day, but maybe not seven lengths superior.

A progressive hurdler last season, Dynamite Dollars was very good on his chasing debut at Market Rasen in October, and he didn’t step forward as much as it looked like he would at Cheltenham.  He is only five and he has bags of scope for progression over fences.  Lalor will be difficult to beat, but there shouldn’t be as great a discrepancy in their prices as there is.

Diakali is classy and should set a strong tempo, and Pingshou should progress from his chasing debut, while Highway One O One and Ornua have both been a little under-rated by the market.  It all stems from the fact that Lalor is shorter than he should be.  That said though, all into the mix, and Dynamite Dollars represents the best value in the race in my book.
