Ballet Concerto
15th-Jul-2017
8/1 is more than fair about Ballet Concerto. Sir Michael Stoute’s horse is not as lightly-raced at Victory Bond, and he has never run at York, but he is a progressive handicapper and he ran a cracker in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot last time, getting up for fourth place after he was checked inside the final furlong.
That was a bounce back to form following two disappointing runs after he had won the Spring Mile on his debut this season.
The handicapper left him on his mark of 102 for that, and that is a mark off which there could be a good handicap like this one in him. He has never won over 10 furlongs, but he raced in the Hunt Cup over a mile as if he would get further, and he could improve for the slight step up in trip.
BALLET CONCERTO WON (ADV 8/1, SP 8/1)
