North Hill Harvey
13th-Nov-2016
North Hill Harvey is another progressive young hurdler who has the potential to go a fair way higher than the mark of 141 off which he is set to race on Sunday.
A progressive novice last season, it all happened a little too quickly for him in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, when he wasn't helped by a mistake at the second last flight, and the speed test that Aintree provided on his final run of the season was not ideal. Even so, he still ran a cracker to finish fourth in that race, the Top Novices’ Hurdle, behind Buveur D’Air, Petit Mouchoir and Limini. That is top class novice form from last season.
He was set to run on Saturday in the Elite Hurdle, but he was taken out just before the race, presumably because of the good ground. With rain set for Cheltenham on Saturday and Sunday, he should get the ease in the ground that he handles so well, and he should get the stamina test over two miles that he needs, with a big-field handicap. The Greatwood is usually more a test of stamina than speed. It is worth getting him on side at 12/1 or 14/1.
NORTH HILL HARVEY WON (ADV 12/1, SP 6/1)
