Mr Win
26th-Sep-2015
I am backing old friend here Mr Win.
There is no rocket science to his chance, he is just a high-class and progressive handicapper, a horse who only just does enough and who, therefore, is difficult for the handicapper to assess accurately.
He is seriously progressive now since the summer. His record since late May reads 22113. However, because those two wins were recorded by margins of, respectively, a head and a neck, he has been raised a total of just 8lb in the last four months for those big runs.
He was beaten last time at Ascot, but that was on easy ground, and it was at Ascot, a track that not all horses handle.
Chris Wall's horse should be happier back on faster ground today, and back at Newmarket. He has never run on the Rowley Mile, but he excels on the July Course – his record there reads 211 – and form between the two Newmarket tracks often holds up well. They are similar in terms of configuration, and they are right beside each other.
He is not a massive price, and Grand Inquisitor is a danger, he is a progressive individual, but I still think that, even at 4/1, Mr Win is worth backing again.
MR WIN WON (ADV 4/1, SP 7/2)
