Duke Cosimo
16th-Aug-2014
Duke Cosimo is just a progressive four-year-old sprinter. A dual winner last season for Michael Stoute, he has progressed nicely as a sprinter this term for David Barron. He does have two and three-quarter lengths to make up on Compton Park from their run at Haydock, but he probably under-performed a little that day. He had better form than Compton Park going into the race.
Also, he is 4lb better off at the weights, he has run well at Ripon, whereas Compton Park has disappointed, he is probably drawn a lot better than the favourite is today, and he is a bigger price. Also, he is by Pivotal, so he should appreciate today’s easier ground, and he is a four-year-old who has run just 10 times. He still has lots of scope for progression as a sprinter, and he is worth backing at 11/1.
DUKE COSIMO WON (ADV 11/1, SP 13/2)
