Suegioo

7th-May-2014

Suegioo perhaps isn’t the most straightforward, as one win and six seconds from 14 runs suggests, but he could really benefit from the strong handling of Ryan Moore for the first time, and he could thrive for the fairly unique test that the Chester Cup presents.

He invariably ran really well last year, especially when stepped up beyond a mile and a half, and, by Manduro out of an In The Wings mare, he could improve again for the step up to beyond two miles for the first time. He was often noted running on well late on in his races last season, usually leaving the impression that he would be better over further. The step up in trip today could be ideal for him.

He shaped nicely on his reappearance at Ripon 11 days ago, on the day on which Mubaraza and Angel Gabrial ran, again coming from last to finish third behind a very progressive winner who had made most of the running. Significantly, several of Marco Botti’s horses have been needing their first runs this season. Suegioo should strip much fitter with that run under his belt. As a Marwan Koukash horse, you know that he has been trained to peak at Chester, and, from stall four, he is worth backing at 14/1.

SUEGIOO WON (ADV 14/1, SP 10/1)
