Platinum

7th-Sept-2013

Philip Kirby’s horse seems to have progressed markedly in his last two runs, and a 9lb hike for his latest win at Musselburgh might not be sufficient to stop him progressing again.

His win at Catterick on his penultimate run proved that he relished the easy conditions that he will have today, and that race is working out really well. The runner-up Linguine ran out an easy winner of his next race off a 1lb higher mark, while the third horse, Party Line, won next time up, when she beat Tropical Beat, and she should have won a really good handicap at York on her next run off a 5lb higher mark.

Platinum himself fairly danced in on his subsequent run, travelling really well before kicking clear impressively.

Russ Kennenmore has struck up a good partnership with him, his record on him now reads 15211, the horse goes well on easy ground, a mile and six furlongs on easy ground is probably his optimum, he stays well and he has pace, he is progressive and he is in the form of his life.

PLATINUM WON (ADV 11/1, SP 10/1)
