Levitate
21st-Sept-2013
I am backing Levitate again here. He was beaten last week at Doncaster when we had him on side, but he was drawn on the wrong side as it turned out. Also, that was quite a messy race, the winner Ascription is a rapidly progressive and exciting horse and, although Levitate ended up down the centre of the track, he was first home of those who had raced on the stands side.
He remains well-treated judged on his previous run at Epsom on Oaks day. Also, even though he does go well fresh, he could have been a little rusty last week on his first run for three and a half months – he didn’t travel as well as he can – and he should be sharper for that run.
Two further positives today. Firstly, Oisin Murphy is on board for the first time. His 5lb claim could be valuable on a straightforward horse.
Secondly, having had a fairly quiet time for the last few weeks, John Quinn’s horses have been flying for the last few days. He has had four winners from 11 runners over the past two days, including one at 50/1 and another placed at that price. Levitate could come on appreciably for that first run back from a break and with his stable going much better now.
LEVITATE WON (ADV 13/2, SP 5/1)
