Realt Mor
31st-Mar-2013
Realt Mor is much more speculative (than Mount Benbulben), he has 9lb to find with Mount Benbulben on official ratings, but it is significant that his trainer is also allowing him take his chance today, and it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that he will find that level of improvement.
An exciting novice hurdler, but then disappointing and a little unlucky as a chaser for Nicky Richards, he actually unseated his rider at the first fence in Home Farm’s beginners’ chase on his debut for Elliott last month, but he looked really good on his second and latest run, kicking off in front and just going further and further clear from some useful fellow maiden chasers.
A brother to Realt Dubh, he was fast and fluent over his fences at Navan, he seemed to relish the soft ground, and he stayed the trip well. It will obviously be more difficult for him to set up a significant lead against Grade 1 opponents today, but if he does, he might take some catching. Hopefully he can get into a nice rhythm early on, hopefully the Fairyhouse fences don’t catch him out. The fact that he jumped well around Navan augurs well on that front.
REALT MOR WON (ADV 12/1, SP 10/1)
