Kaylif Aramis

2nd-Feb-2013

Kaylif Aramis was really eye-catching on his most recent run in a three-mile novice handicap hurdle at Ascot just before Christmas. He travelled really powerfully throughout there, he was still tanking along heading out of Swinley Bottom and he was still going enthusiastically as they began the turn for home. He looked the likely winner as he ranged up to challenge De La Bech (he traded at 1.52 in-running), but he couldn’t quite get on terms with the gutsy all-the-way winner and he just paid late on for having raced so exuberantly, fading into fifth at the line.

Given how well he travelled for much of the three miles on heavy ground, he should be really well suited to dropping back down to two and a half miles today. He has been raised 2lb for that Ascot run but that still leaves him potentially really well handicapped on a mark of 112.

KAYLIF ARAMIS WON (ADV 6/1, SP 4/1)
