Siyouma

29th-Sept-2012

I am also getting Siyouma on side (as well as Elusive Kate) at 12/1. She ran really well to finish third in that Falmouth Stakes, despite not having the run of the race at all. She kept on best of all off a sedate pace, and finished just three parts of a length behind Elusive Kate.

On her only run since then, she again ran a cracker to finish a close-up fifth behind Snow Fairy and Izzi Top in the Prix Jean Romanet. I don’t really expect her to beat Elusive Kate, and she is probably more a 10-furlong filly than a one-mile filly, and she would probably prefer softer ground than she is likely to get on Saturday over a mile, but all of those slight negatives are more than factored into her odds. She is a high class filly, and it is interesting that Francois Doumen is intending to allow her take her chance on Saturday when the Prix de l’Opera, over 10 furlongs, is only nine days later. It is easy to see her running much better than odds of 12/1 suggest she will.

SIYOUMA WON (ADV 12/1, SP 12/1)
