Expense Claim
19th-May-2012
Expense Claim also looks over-priced at 7/1 or 15/2 (as well as Rewarded). There is no real rocket science to his claims, he is just a highly progressive horse who is two for two so far this season and who looks set to continue improving.
He only got home by a neck from Perfect Delight at Salisbury on his most recent run, but he probably had a fair bit more in hand than that neck. He travelled like the most likely winner from a long way out, but he was travelling so well that Liam Keniry left himself with no real option but to go on before they reached the two-furlong pole, and that was just too early. He idled in front, and it actually looked like he was going to be overhauled, before he picked up again when the filly got close.
A 6lb hike is not harsh, he won with plenty in hand at Salisbury and he should continue to improve. Andrew Balding’s horses are in good form and the in-form Jimmy Fortune takes over again in the saddle. He stays the trip well and he could go close to winning this.
EXPENSE CLAIM WON (ADV 7/1, SP 7/1)
