Aerial
3rd-Mar-2012
Aerial is a lightly-raced progressive individual who ran a cracker in the Paddy Power Gold Cup and followed up by winning impressively at Ascot. However, he was a little disappointing for me back at Cheltenham in January against The Giant Bolster.
That disappointing run wasn’t factored into his odds when he was a 4/1 shot, but, in the face of support for the Pricewise horses Araldur and Fine Parchment, he has drifted out to 11/2, and that is more than fair. At that price, you can allow for his slightly disappointing run last time, simply because he is the most progressive horse in the race. His trainer Paul Nicholls has won this race four times in the last six years, if you include Cornish Sett’s dead-heat with Horus in 2006, and Aerial is worth having on side as well at that 11/2.
AERIAL WON (ADV 11/2 [R4])
