Tatenen

22nd-Jan-2011

I am also getting Tatenen on side at a big price. He is a risky proposition, and he has been disappointing on his last two runs, but he did shape with a lot of promise on his first run for Richard Rowe when he finished third behind Riverside Theatre at Kempton in early November. The easy ground will suit, and this is his trip, much more than the three miles he tackled against Pride Of Dulcote and Punchestowns last time.

He has now dropped to a remarkably low mark of 137, which is 18lb lower than when he was in his pomp with Paul Nicholls. I am not a huge fan of horses who have dropped to an attractive mark, but Tatenen is still only seven, he is a young horse, there are reasons for believing that he could bounce back today and he is a massive price. He is worth backing at 25/1, but he is a win-only bet. You have to accept that there is a chance he is simply gone, that he won’t be at the races at all.

TATENEN WON (ADV 25/1, SP 22/1)
