Queen Of Pentacles

7th-Nov-2009

Jeremy Noseda’s filly has only run five times in her life, she is most progressive, and she ran a cracker last time at Newmarket to finish fourth in a good listed fillies’ race, just two lengths behind the winner Enticement, when she came wide and late on a day when it paid to race handily and against the far rail. Even the bare form of that run gives her a chance, but she can be marked up a fair bit for it, and she should progress for it anyway. She has never raced on soft ground, but she is out of a Sadler’s Wells mare and she races like she will appreciate the extra premium on stamina that today’s ground will place. Richard Hughes rides her for the first time today, which is a positive, and Jeremy Noseda’s horses are in good form.

Arwah is nicely progressive and should go well if she handles the ground, while Plaisterer and Cill Rialaig are also players. Queen Of Pentacles has to improve on what she has done, but there is a chance that there is that much improvement in her, and at 14/1 that chance is worth taking. She is 20/1 on Betfair, so best to either bet her on Betfair or with one of the many firms who guarantee their morning prices. There is no each-way shape to the race, so she is just a win bet for me.

QUEEN OF PENTACLES WON (ADV 14/1, SP 14/1)
