Sangfroid
25-04-2009
Sangfroid is slightly over-priced here at 10/1 in my book, and he is worth a small interest. He ran really well to finish second to subsequent Fred Winter Hurdle winner Silk Affair over this course and distance back in February on his penultimate run, and a 3lb hike looks lenient, especially given the fact that the winner went on to land the Fred Winter off a 15lb higher mark. He fell when travelling well at Uttoxeter last time and, as long as he has come out of that okay, he could go well. His good runs over hurdles have been on softer ground, but he has won on fast ground on the flat. He does need everything to drop right for him, but he is talented, and he is well handicapped, and, in an open contest in which the favourite is too short, at 10/1 he is worth chancing.
SANGFROID WON (SP 12/1)
