Purview
I wouldn’t go giving up on Purview yet. His bubble may have been deflated a little bit when he was beaten in the Group 3 Kilternan Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday, but he was settled back in the field early on and the pace was not strong. Still only ninth of the 10 runners passing the two-furlong marker, he finished off his race strongly to take third place, two and a half lengths behind the winner Arabian Crown, who made all the running. He was fastest of all through the final furlong and through the final three furlongs.
Dermot Weld's horse remains exciting. He was impressive in winning the Listed Orby Stakes over a mile and a half at The Curragh on Irish Guineas weekend, and he was impressive again in winning the Group 3 International Stakes over 10 furlongs back at The Curragh on Irish Derby weekend. He still has the potential to be a Group 1 horse, and the Champion Stakes and the Breeders' Cup Turf are legitimate potential targets.
